The Department of Posts has officially revised the syllabus and exam pattern for the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for Inspector Posts. This update, released on 22nd August 2025, supersedes the earlier guidelines issued in April 2021. The new rules will apply to all examinations conducted after this notification.

Revised Exam Pattern for LDCE Inspector Posts 2025

  • Paper I: 125 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 2 marks each – 250 marks | Duration: 2 hrs 30 mins
  • Paper II: Noting (15 marks), Drafting (15 marks), Draft Charge Sheet (20 marks) – 50 marks | Duration: 1 hr
  • Paper III: 150 MCQs, 2 marks each – 300 marks | Duration: 3 hrs

Qualifying Marks:

  • General Category: 40% in each paper + 45% overall
  • SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: 33% in each paper + 38% overall
